Dresden EBIT3 with Wienfilter at MPIK Heidelberg
remember this product remember this product

product name: Dresden EBIT3 with Wienfilter at MPIK Heidelberg
product category: Ion sources
catalog no.: R00008
datasheet: datasheet n/a

At the Max-Planck-Institut for Nuclear Physics Heidelberg, the so called PENTATRAP experiment is in preparation. The objective of the experiment is to get high-precision mass measurements at highly charged, stable and long-lived ions.

At mass measurements, it is expected to reach relative accuracies of better than 1E-11 , which allows tests of fundamental symmetries and the determination of fundamental constants. The aspired accuracy can only be reached by the use of highly charged ions. During the assembling and testing phase, the Dresden EBIT3 serves as an offline ion source for highly charged ions, having to fulfill specific requirements concerning reachable ion charge states and ion beam intensities.
